This ground floor refurbishment to a large Victorian townhouse in Acton was centered around the clients desire to connect her kitchen and dining space with her under-utilized garden. The aim was to create a flexible family space that connected seamlessly with the outside for the client to enjoy with her
grand-children.
KSA responded to this brief by re-orientating the main kitchen so that it faced the garden , new penetrations were created in the envelope to frame the external space accessed through large bi folding doors. By using the same natural stone flooring tiles internally and externally there is a blurred boundary from inside to outside with wildflower planters creating a backdrop to the space.
KSA provided concept ideas in the form of sketches and 3D models and was involved in the project in RIBA stages 0-3 ( concept to developed design )
